Martinez claims Jagielka was injured

Roberto Martinez claims that defender Phil Jagielka before the end of the campaign despite appearing to suffer a season threatening injury in the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United.

The England international is regarded as one of the important members of the squad. It would be positive for Everton if he was to make an impression for England at the upcoming Euro 2016. Now that the season has little to offer for the club, Martinez was hoping that Jagielka would be available for England in the summer. He has dismissed fears that the defender may miss the Euro 2016 due to hamstring issues.

Martinez, whose position at Everton is reportedly under threat, claimed that Gareth Barry, Seamus Coleman, and Phil Jagielka are the three players under monitoring in order to get them fit as soon as possible. He says that the possibility of Gerard Deulofeu returning before the end of the season is very low. Everton are on course to record one of their worst finishes in recent league campaigns. This was despite the club bringing in top quality players like Romelu Lukaku for huge money in the summer. Lukaku has gone on to score more than 25 goals in all competitions, but he has already been making noises about the club’s inability to even challenge for a top four place.

“The only three players we’re keeping a close eye on are Seamus Coleman, Gareth Barry and Phil Jagielka.Obviously Gerard Deulofeu, I think it will be very difficult to see in any of the final three games. We’re very confident that Phil Jagielka will be available for the last game of the season. Gareth Barry and Seamus Coleman have got an outside chance of being involved at the weekend, but I feel very confident that they will be involved one way or another before the season ends,” said Martinez.

Martinez happy with point against Crystal Palace

Roberto Martinez has classified the solitary point against Crystal Palace as perfect timing for his team.

The two teams could only manage a goalless draw at Selhurst Park. The result stretched Everton’s winless run in the league to 5 matches. The last time Everton won a game in the Premier League was back at the start of March when a 3-1 comfortable victory over struggling Aston Villa does not give good confidence to the squad. However, the club has showed improved performances in the last two matches.

The draws against Watford and Crystal Palace may not be satisfactory as a result, butit has helped the club do well on the defensive front. Everton have one of the poorest defences in the league. This is despite the presence of John Stones, who was linked with a £ 30 million move to Chelsea in the summer. Everton will want to return to winning ways as soon as possible and the game against Southampton represents an ideal opportunity next weekend. Form must come back to the team soon as Everton are up against Liverpool and Manchester United in back-to-back games towards the end of April.

The first will be a Merseyside derby followed by the clash with United at Wembley for the FA Cup semi-final.”We were very clear in what we wanted to do.And the next one is managing the game in a way that could allow us to have our threat as well.Funes Mori, Seamus Coleman, Ross Barkley all had good chances. Overall, I am pleased with the role we had to take in the second-half, over 45 minutes with 10 men against a team like Crystal Palace that can easily use their direct play to get the ball in the box and test you, constantly,” said the manager.

Roberto Martinez confident on John Stones

Roberto Martinez is hopeful that defender John Stones will be able to climb out from his poor run and start to inspire the team in the rest of the campaign.

Stones was one of the talked about names in the summer after he was subjected to transfer interest from Chelsea. The Premier League champions were ready to play in excess of £ 30 million for the 21-year-old. This would have represented a massive profit on a £ 4 million investment for Everton, but they chose to retain him. This proved to be the right decision in the first half of the campaign whenStones was almost impenetrable.

This situation, however, changed dramatically in the second half whenStones’ was seen as a culprit for the club’s poor defensive record this season. The England star missed the entire month of February action. Now, he has been recalled back to the starting line-up and Martinez says that the timeout on the sidelines has helped Stones recover his energy. He expects much better performances from the youngster in the coming weeks. Everton still have a chance to qualify for the Europa League, but it has been moved to an outside chance. The club are just below the likes of Chelsea and West Brom in the league table.

“I thought when he came out he looked refreshed, he looked full of energy, like the player he looked like at the start of the season. I think he has come back with a real focus and a real intent of performing well and I think the second half performance, the back three had to do everything, defend, get on the ball and try to play forward and I thought it was an all-action performance. He reacted well and anticipated things very well,” said Martinez after the 2-0 loss against Arsenal.

Bilic expects contract extension

Slaven Bilic is the head coach of West Ham United, having taken charge of the Premier League club on June 9 of 2015, and he already wants a contract extension!

The Croatian manager has done a superb job as he has guided West Ham United to 19 victories, 16 draws and 10 defeats which has positioned the club to the top 8 spots of the English League and they even have a realistic chance of securing a Europa League spot which can allow the team to compete in the Europa League competition for the next season.

West Ham United also managed to reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup which is also fairly impressive, although they were eliminated from the English competition after losing against Crystal Palace but nonetheless, it still has been a fairly memorable opening campaign for Slaven Bilic who has a contract with the Premier League club until 2018 but is already being rumored on extending his deal even further.

The 47 year old coach is rumoured to be rewarded for his impressive debut season with a new deal and according to the Club join-chairman David Sullivan stated that Slaven Billic will indeed have a contract renewal on January of 2017.

The new contract will apparently feature a new clause that will stop Slaven Bilic from having any involvement with the various commercal websites he currently manages, including the Pokies Palace guide to finding the best pokies, with Sullivan wanting him to give West Ham his full concentration.

David Sullivan said: “I will give Slaven a new deal in January. I just want to see that he is not a one-season wonder. I’m sure he is not, but we will talk next January or at the end of next season. I have to tell you that he is interested in the project, not money. He stayed at Croatia on £2,000 a week for five years when he would have had bundles of offers. He is not really into money. He is more interested in getting the best players for the club than the best money for himself.”

With less than 7 league matches remaining, Slaven Bilic is now focusing on adding as many points as possible and try to secure a Europa League spot but even if West Ham United is not able to do it, it seems like Bilic has already earned the trust from the head officials of the club who have already confirmed their intentions to extend the contract of the Croatian manager.

Pochettino focussing on the Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur were knocked from the UEFA Europa League on March 17 after suffering an aggregate defeat of 5-1 against Borussia Dortmund.

Despite being eliminated from the European competition, Mauricio Pochettino did not appear to be flustered in any way as the Argentinean manager even stated that this result is good news for his squad as they can now solely focus on catching up to the Premier League table toppers Leicester City.

Mauricio Pochettino and his squad have less than 10 league matches where they have to make something happen and give it their all in order to have any kind of realistic chance to snatch the top spot of the English league. Making it into the top 4 is key for next season – if the transfer rumours are to be believed then they have some stellar signings lined up to help take them to the next level.

It’s been over 50 years since Tottenham Hotspur has been able to lift the Premier League and in this season, the only thing that is standing in their way is Leicester City and Pochettino will do everything in his power to try and take the 1rst place away from the team of Claudio Ranieri.

“I think now we are focused on the Premier League and all our energies will go into trying to win games and win the league. It’s true that there are no distractions now, until now we had the Europa League to play, but now we only have the Premier League. We need to realize that our target was to try to reduce the gap to the top four but we are second in the table now, and we have played one tie more than last season in the Europa League.’’ Mauricio Pochettino said.

Now that the Premier League is reaching it’s final stages, every single point, every win or defeat can be the difference between becoming the new champions of England and just falling short.

Roberto Martinez’ position at Everton went from bad to worse

Roberto Martinez’ position at Everton went from bad to worse after his team were beaten 1-0 by West Brom at Goodison Park.

This was the second league loss in five matches for a team that has top four ambitions. Martinez spent a lot of money recruiting players like Romelu Lukaku on a permanent basis, but inconsistency is starting to hurt in the team’s ability to make a major impact in the Premier league. The recent defeat saw them slip into the bottom half of the league while there is a real danger of the club being sucked into the relegation zone if things do not improve soon.

Martinez used the terms like unlucky and criticised the opponents for time wasting tactics, but he will be aware that it is his job that will be on the line. The club are in advanced talks over a potential ownership change, which will put further pressure on the Spaniard. If the potential £ 200 million change in ownership goes through, the new American owners will want to have their own man in charge of the club. Martinez has had an up-and-down time at Everton. Despite managing to successfully go beyond the David Moyes era, he has struggled in terms of consistency and this is not good for a team with European ambitions.

“Everything that could go wrong went wrong. I don’t care about budgets at other places. You need to know how to get there and have the strategy. I want to push the football club into more than what people would expect. The squad we have is a squad to dream of. Until you get 40 points and beyond, every club will be looking over their shoulders. I don’t care what anyone says,” said Martinez about the probability of relegation threat in the coming weeks.

Aston Villa are now becoming certainties for relegation

Aston Villa are now becoming certainties for relegation after being cut adrift at the bottom of the table.

This is making life extremely difficult for Frenchman Remi Garde, who was appointed as the replacement for Tim Sherwood a few months ago.Garde has been looking to strengthen the team in the January transfer window, but Villa have been unable to make much inroads so far.Garde has opened up on the situation by claiming that several players have already turned down to the club since they are not confident about Villa retaining the league status.

Aston Villa are one of the top clubs to have avoided relegation, but they have been in a dogfight over the last couple of years. This finally appears to be the season where they go down into the Championship. The team have secured only eight points from the 20 league games so far. They already need to make up more than 10 points just to stay in touch with the likes of Newcastle United and Sunderland. Villa did make a lot of signings in the summer under Sherwood, but most of the names have failed to shine at Villa Park. The club’s recent disappointment came in the FA Cup when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Wycombe.

“Attracting players in the situation we are in is not an easy task because players are not only attracted by money, as many people think. They also care about the project that we present to them. I have to say that if we had been in a better position, I would probably already have signed at least two players. It is very frustrating but I came into a situation that I knew could be uncomfortable to me for signing players,” said Garde, who has been linked with Loic Remy and Mathieu Debuchy.

Neville Under Pressure

Gary Neville is just months into his time at Valencia as their head coach, however, the former Manchester United and England full-back already has a fight on his hands to keep his job with the Spanish club.

Valencia are having one of their worst seasons for a long time. When Neville took over in December, they were mid-table in La Liga’s standings.

Another poor run of form since then has seen Los Che drop even further down the table to a stage where they need to start finding some positive results otherwise they will end up in a relegation scrap.

With such a large deficit to make up, it looks very unlikely that Valencia will be playing European football next season, unless they can win the Europa League where they would need to beat Rapid Wien of the Austria league over two legs first in their last-32 encounter.

In any La Liga betting at the time of writing, Valencia are 12-1 for a top-six finish at the end of the season, while they are shorter at 10-1 to be relegated.

When accepting the job in Spain, it was such a big challenge for Neville to take on. He had no experience of working in La Liga, at the time he could hardly speak any Spanish and he was inheriting a team that was so low in confidence.

The Manchester United legend has yet to experience a win in La Liga since signing for the club. Their recent game against Real Betis was described as being ‘very important’ by Neville himself. However, they suffered a 1-0 defeat to add further misery to the campaign.

The biggest embarrassment for Neville so far came in the first leg of their Copa Del Ray semi-final clash with Barcelona at the Nou Camp. It was always going to be a difficult task for Neville’s side to come away with a positive result, however, they were hammered 7-0 by the Catalan giants.

Despite the run without a win, it appears the Valencia board are sticking with Neville for now. He has a contract with the club until the end of this season. It looks very unlikely at this stage that his stay in Spain will last any longer than that though.

Neville will continue his role with England this summer when they travel to France for Euro 2016. He could move back home in the summer where he will need to decide if he should return to punditry or wait upon any potential job opportunities managing an English club.

Although it will be a difficult for a man who was so used to winning as a player, being part of those successful Manchester United teams of the 90s and early 00s, Neville will no doubt learn from his experience at Valencia.

It is his first managerial job and he will get a lot of credit for not backing down from the challenge. But his next job in football could be huge when it comes to fixing his reputation as a possible England manager of the future.

Russia is Ahead of World Cup Schedule

According to the Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko, Russia is doing a superb job in their preparations for the impending World Cup as all the preparations of the country have earned praise from the football governing authority FIFA as they are constantly checking up on how things are going and a lot of the big projects that needed to be done have already been completed.

World Cup 2018

“FIFA is annually evaluating the work of the organizing committees on its 10-point system. We were graded 12 for our work in 2015. The advanced grade was awarded for our ahead-of-schedule work. We have completed the projects concepts concerning security, communications and transportation.”

Back in 2013 the Russian government adopted a special program, which included about 300 facilities. They are all currently under construction paid for by the federal budget. In addition we have added up approximately the same amount of regional infrastructure facilities” Russia’s Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko announced to mybonuscode.co.uk.

These preparation stages are hugely important and from the looks of it, Russia is doing a fine job so far and it’s important to take into consideration that Brazil was the former host of the World Cup and the South American country struggled trying to keep up with the construction deadlines that were imposed by FIFA.

Back in December of 2013, there were a number of stadiums that were supposed to have been built in Brazil but due to a number of problems that emerged, they weren’t constructed in time. At the end of it all, the South American country managed to complete all their main stadiums but this was a huge hassle that Brazil had to overcome.

This however, doesn’t appear to be an issue with Russia as they are proving why they are the deserving nation of hosting this enormous scale event.

Everton’s failure to win for a third successive game

Everton’s failure to win for a third successive game has left the team 10th in the table.

The latest disappointment came in the match against Norwich. Even though striker Romelu Lukaku score yet again in the Premier League, the club were unable to take advantage of his goals. Conceding just into the second-half from a set piece meant that Everton have dropped two more points. Only a few weeks ago, things look extremely promising for Everton and Roberto Martinez. They looked like being capable of finishing in the European spots.

Martinez says that the team will have to different set pieces a lot better if they are to finish in the top six at the very least. The poor defensive record of the team from the set pieces is rather surprising given that they have some of the best headers of the ball. John Stones was kept at the club under huge pressure from Chelsea and he was delivering very well at the start of the season. However, central defenders have tended to go on a poor run of form and this appears to be one of them. Stones is likely to once again come under interest from Chelsea in January. If his poor form continues, Everton may consider selling him.

“We have been a really strong defensive unit but we have let ourselves be a little soft in defensive work from dead-ball situations. It is something that we want to fix and be better. It is an area of any game that is going to be very important in determining the scoreline. We have had a lot of injuries throughout the season as any team has but I thought we coped really, really well. The young players showed a terrific attitude and personality to step in and do a really good job,” said Martinez.
