Richarlison privileged to work under Carlo Ancelotti at Everton
Brazil international Richarlison has said that he is privileged to work under the guidance of Carlo Ancelotti at Everton. The legendary Italian manager was appointed as the Toffees boss in December last year and he has since consolidated the club’s position in mid-table. Speaking to the club’s official website, Richarlison heaped praise on the former Napoli boss and said that the Toffees have plenty to gain from the manager’s experience.
He added that everyone within the Toffees squad has great respect for the three-time Champions League-winning manager and that should help in the progress of the club, he told: “Carlo is one of the greatest of all time and it has been a privilege to work with him. I am learning a lot from him and I am sure we will achieve good things together. Ancelotti is one of the greatest coaches in history, in my opinion. I think the club has a lot to gain from him. He has a winning spirit and does not accept less than the maximum you can leave on the pitch. This mentality and the respect everyone has for him are very important and will help us a lot.”
The Merseyside outfit jumped to the top half of the league standings during the month of February but their form dipped before the coronavirus shutdown with just one point accumulated from the games against Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea. While they were completely outplayed by the Blues, the Toffees could be disappointed by the fact that they could not make the most of the chances on offer against the Gunners and Red Devils.
They are currently placed 13th on the table but still have a chance of making the European places for next season. The club are presently six points adrift of the final Europa League qualification spot and they have a chance of making ground on the position, suppose they end the season on a strong note.
